Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Stir in the garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and vodka to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off.
  5. Lower the heat; stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and stir to combine.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
