Sparkling Grape Juice Mocktail

Sparkling Grape Juice Mocktail

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup 100% Concord grape juice (chilled)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda (chilled)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Frozen grapes (to act as ice cubes)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon agave nectar or simple syrup (if you prefer more sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Chill the Glassware
For the most refreshing experience, place your glasses in the freezer for about 10 minutes before serving. A chilled glass helps maintain the carbonation of the sparkling water and keeps the mocktail crisp until the very last sip. If you are in a rush, simply fill the glasses with ice water for a minute and then discard the water before starting.
  2. Step 2: Mix the Base
In a small pitcher or directly in your serving glasses, combine the chilled Concord grape juice and the fresh lime juice. The lime juice is crucial here; it adds a bright acidity that cuts through the natural sweetness of the grape juice, creating a more balanced and “grown-up” flavor. Stir gently with a long spoon to combine.
  3. Step 3: Add the Bubbles
Slowly pour the sparkling water or club soda over the grape juice mixture. Hold the glass at a slight angle to preserve as many bubbles as possible. Give it one very gentle stir—over-stirring will cause the drink to go flat quickly. If you decided to use a sweetener, add it now and stir lightly until dissolved.
  4. Step 4: Garnish and Serve
Drop a few frozen grapes into each glass. These act as ice cubes that won’t water down your drink as they melt. Slap a sprig of fresh mint against your hand to release the aromatic oils and tuck it into the glass. Serve immediately while the drink is still effervescent and cold.
