Description
A delightful dish combining tender chicken with a rich Marsala sauce and creamy orzo pasta, perfect for family dinners or impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, adding them to the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the Marsala wine, scraping any browned bits from the bottom. Allow to simmer for a few minutes to concentrate flavors, then add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in orzo pasta, cooking according to package instructions until tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Brown the chicken well for maximum flavor; use dry Marsala for best results. Customize with fresh herbs or vegetables for added nutrition.
