  • Author: lydia

Description

A delightful dessert combining tender, juicy peaches with a sweet, biscuit-like topping, served warm with creamy vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • Fresh peaches
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract
  • Lemon juice
  • Cornstarch
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Baking powder
  • Milk
  • Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. While the oven heats up, wash and slice the fresh peaches into thin wedges.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss the mixture gently to ensure all peaches are coated. Transfer this sweet peach mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, melted butter, and milk. Stir until a soft dough forms. Using a spoon, drop generous spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the peach filling.
  4. Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling up around the edges. Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving. Ice cream should be stored separately in the freezer.
