- 1 box orange cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/4 cups orange juice
- 1 small box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1/2 cup orange zest
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the orange cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and orange juice. Mix well until combined.
- Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake according to package instructions, usually around 30 minutes. Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cake cool for about 10 minutes.
- Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes across the entire top of the cooled cake.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth. Pour this pudding mixture over the holes in the cake.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer evenly. Garnish with orange zest and optional sprinkles before serving.
Notes
For an intense orange flavor, add a tablespoon of orange extract to the cake batter. Allow the cake to cool completely before poking holes.
