Ingredients

  • 1 box orange cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup orange soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • Orange zest for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven as directed on the cake mix box and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the orange cake mix, eggs, and water in a large bowl. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake according to the cake mix box directions.
  4. Cool the baked cake for about 10 minutes, then poke holes all over the surface with a fork.
  5. Mix the sweetened condensed milk and orange soda together, then pour over the warm cake.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form, then fold in the whipped topping.
  8. Spread the cream mixture over the top of the chilled cake and garnish with fresh orange zest.
