Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz Orange Soda (chilled)
- 2 tablespoons Vanilla Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
- 2 tablespoons Heavy Cream (or half-and-half)
- Pebble ice (nugget ice)
- Optional: Orange slice and Maraschino cherry for garnish
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Glass Fill a large 16-ounce glass or tumbler to the brim with pebble ice. Using small, crushed ice is essential for the authentic dirty soda experience as it chills the drink instantly and provides the perfect crunch.
- Step 2: Add the Flavorings Drizzle the vanilla syrup directly over the ice. Squeeze in the fresh lime juice. The acidity of the lime cuts through the sweetness of the soda and syrup, creating a more balanced and sophisticated flavor profile.
- Step 3: Pour the Orange Soda Slowly pour the chilled orange soda into the glass. Leave about an inch of space at the top to accommodate the cream. You will see the vanilla and lime begin to mix with the carbonation at the bottom.
- Step 4: The Creamy Finish Pour the heavy cream over the top of the soda. For a beautiful visual effect, pour it slowly so it marbles down through the orange liquid. Give it one very gentle stir with a straw—do not over-mix, or you will lose the carbonation. Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy immediately.
