- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup miso paste
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl. Mix in both granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each well. Add vanilla and miso, mixing until smooth.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture, folding until combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it and spread the remaining batter on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the caramel into the batter for a marble effect.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.

For a nutty twist, add chopped walnuts or pecans. Allowing brownies to cool before cutting helps maintain their shape.
