Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 hoagie rolls, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.
- Combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix everything until well combined.
- Form the meat mixture into meatballs and place them evenly in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs, making sure they are well coated.
- Scatter the pieces of hoagie rolls over the top of the meatballs, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For extra flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Avoid overmixing the meat to keep it tender.
