Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (old fashioned oats)
- 1 scoop vanilla or salted caramel protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or stevia (optional for extra sweetness)
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- In a mason jar or a small sealable container, add the rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Use a spoon or a small whisk to stir the dry ingredients together. Ensuring the protein powder is well-distributed among the oats prevents clumps from forming when you add the liquid later.
- Add the Greek yogurt, almond milk, molasses, and your chosen sweetener to the jar. Stir vigorously until all the dry ingredients are fully incorporated and no pockets of dry protein powder remain. Secure the lid tightly on the jar and place it in the refrigerator. Let the oats soak for at least 4 hours, though leaving them overnight is best for the creamiest texture.
- In the morning, remove the jar from the fridge and give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, splash in a little extra milk to reach your desired consistency. Top your oats with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a sprinkle of extra cinnamon, or a few crushed pecans for a satisfying crunch. Serve chilled and enjoy your festive, protein-packed breakfast.
