Ingredients
Scale
- 1 scoop vanilla whey or plant-based protein powder
- 1/2 cup low-fat eggnog (or almond milk eggnog for fewer calories)
- 1/2 cup cold brew coffee or two chilled espresso shots
- 1/4 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Optional: Sugar-free whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Ensure your coffee is completely cold before starting. If you use hot espresso, it will melt the ice instantly and create a watery consistency. Pour the cold brew or chilled espresso shots directly into the blender canister. Using a high-quality coffee base ensures the latte flavor shines through the spices.
- Add the protein powder, Greek yogurt, and eggnog to the blender. The Greek yogurt adds a pleasant tang and significantly boosts the protein content while providing a thick, shake-like texture. If you prefer a lighter drink, you can swap the traditional eggnog for a dairy-free version made from almond or oat milk.
- Add the nutmeg, cinnamon, and ice cubes to the mix. Secure the lid tightly and blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds. Continue blending until the ice is completely pulverized and the mixture looks frothy and smooth. Taste the smoothie and add an extra pinch of nutmeg if you want a bolder holiday flavor.
- Pour the smoothie into a tall glass. If you want to make it feel extra special, top it with a dollop of sugar-free whipped cream and an extra dusting of cinnamon. Serve immediately while the drink is ice-cold and frothy.
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
