Description

A delightful dish with crispy fried chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory glaze, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Boneless chicken thighs
  • ½ cup Cornstarch
  • ¼ cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 inch Ginger, grated
  • 23 Dried chiles
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 cups Rice
  • Steamed broccoli, to serve

Instructions

  1. Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized chunks. Marinate them in a delicious mixture of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in cornstarch.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the cornstarch-coated chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Prepare the glaze in a separate pan by combining soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, and dried chiles. Toss the fried chicken in the glaze until coated.
  5. Serve the General Tso’s Chicken over rice and steamed broccoli.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider oven-baking the chicken instead of frying. Adjust spiciness by varying the amount of dried chiles.
