Fruit Salad With Cinnamon Honey

Fruit Salad With Cinnamon Honey

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Diet: Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Refined sugar-free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced into half-moons
  • 1 large apple, cored and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (or lemon juice)
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by washing all your fruit thoroughly under cold water. Pat the berries dry gently with a paper towel to ensure the dressing sticks to them later. Hull and quarter the strawberries, halve the grapes, and peel the kiwis. Chop the apple into bite-sized pieces. Place all the prepared fruit into a large mixing bowl. If you are using apples or bananas, toss them in a teaspoon of lime juice immediately to prevent browning while you finish the rest of the prep.
  2. In a small glass bowl or a measuring cup, combine the honey, ground cinnamon, and the remaining lime juice. If your honey is too thick or crystallized, microwave it for 5 to 10 seconds until it reaches a pourable consistency. Whisk the mixture vigorously until the cinnamon is fully incorporated into the honey. The lime juice serves two purposes: it thins the honey for better coating and provides a bright acidity that balances the sweetness.
  3. Pour the cinnamon honey mixture over the fruit in the large bowl. Using a large rubber spatula or spoon, gently fold the fruit until every piece is glistening with the glaze. Be careful not to mash the softer fruits like strawberries or kiwi. You can serve this immediately at room temperature, or cover the bowl and refrigerate it for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Garnish with fresh mint leaves just before serving for a pop of color and fragrance.
