Description
Delightful crispy fried chicken legs marinated in buttermilk for tender meat and a golden brown crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken legs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Begin by marinating the chicken legs in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, or ideally, overnight.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each chicken leg in the seasoned flour mixture.
- Carefully place the coated chicken legs into the hot oil and fry for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil and serve hot.
Notes
For maximum flavor, consider adding herbs such as thyme or rosemary to your buttermilk marinade.
