Description

Delightful crispy fried chicken legs marinated in buttermilk for tender meat and a golden brown crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the chicken legs in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, or ideally, overnight.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each chicken leg in the seasoned flour mixture.
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken legs into the hot oil and fry for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil and serve hot.

Notes

For maximum flavor, consider adding herbs such as thyme or rosemary to your buttermilk marinade.
