Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Additional sugar for topping
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter; mix well.
- Gently add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and water to create a syrup; brush generously on the donuts.
- Sprinkle with additional sugar and caramelize with a kitchen torch until golden crust forms.
- Serve warm and enjoy!

Best served fresh. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze without the caramelized topping for up to 1 month.
