Description

Delightful donuts infused with the classic flavors of crème brûlée, featuring a buttery exterior, soft interior, and a crispy caramelized sugar topping.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Additional sugar for topping
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter; mix well.
  4. Gently add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
  8. In a bowl, mix sugar and water to create a syrup; brush generously on the donuts.
  9. Sprinkle with additional sugar and caramelize with a kitchen torch until golden crust forms.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Best served fresh. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze without the caramelized topping for up to 1 month.
