Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large oranges
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by slicing the oranges into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once the syrup is boiling, carefully add the orange slices and let them simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the orange slices from the syrup using a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on a wire rack for at least an hour.
- Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate with coconut oil in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
- After the orange slices have dried, dip each slice halfway into the melted chocolate and place them back on the wire rack to set.
- Once the chocolate has firmed up, the candied orange slices are ready to enjoy!
