Sweet and tangy, these candied orange slices dipped in rich chocolate create a delightful treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large oranges
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the oranges into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once the syrup is boiling, carefully add the orange slices and let them simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. Once cooked, remove the orange slices from the syrup using a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on a wire rack for at least an hour.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate with coconut oil in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
  6. After the orange slices have dried, dip each slice halfway into the melted chocolate and place them back on the wire rack to set.
  7. Once the chocolate has firmed up, the candied orange slices are ready to enjoy!
