- 1 package frozen hash browns
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Thaw the frozen hash browns in the fridge overnight or on the counter for 30 minutes.
- Combine the thawed hash browns with sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, diced onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, smoothing the top, and sprinkle additional cheese on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added texture, mix in some crushed cornflakes on top before baking. You can also customize with different cheese varieties or stir in cooked bacon for extra flavor.
