Description

A delightful twist on the classic meatloaf, this casserole combines comforting flavors with gooey cheese for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread half of the meatloaf mixture in the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Then, layer half of the shredded cheese over the meatloaf mixture. Next, add the marinara sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
  4. Spread the remaining meatloaf mixture on top of the marinara sauce, and then top this layer with the remaining cheese. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through and bubbly.
  5. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
