A delightful twist on the classic meatloaf, this casserole combines comforting flavors with gooey cheese for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread half of the meatloaf mixture in the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Then, layer half of the shredded cheese over the meatloaf mixture. Next, add the marinara sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
- Spread the remaining meatloaf mixture on top of the marinara sauce, and then top this layer with the remaining cheese. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
