Scale
- 4 Oranges
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Water
Instructions
- Cut the oranges into quarters and remove the flesh, discarding any white pith.
- Place the peels in a pot of water and boil for about 15 minutes to reduce bitterness.
- Drain the peels and pat them dry.
- In a pan, combine equal parts sugar and water, bring to a simmer, and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the dried peels to the syrup and simmer on low heat until translucent (about 30-40 minutes).
- Remove the peels with a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack to dry completely.
- Optionally, roll the dried peels in granulated sugar for an added crunch.
Notes
