Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 medium apple, finely diced
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Find a glass jar or a small airtight container. Add the rolled oats, your preferred milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir everything together with a spoon until the mixture is well combined and there are no dry clumps of oats or cinnamon.
- Gently fold the finely diced apples into the oat mixture. You can use any apple variety you prefer, such as Honeycrisp for sweetness or Granny Smith for a bit of tartness. Ensure the apple pieces are distributed evenly throughout the jar so every bite contains a bit of fruit. Secure the lid tightly on the container.
- Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, though overnight is best. During this time, the oats and chia seeds soak up the liquid, softening into a creamy pudding-like consistency. In the morning, give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, splash in a little extra milk. Garnish with more fresh apple slices or a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy cold.
