Apple Cinnamon High Protein Overnight Oats Recipe

Apple Cinnamon High Protein Overnight Oats Recipe

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Diet: Vegetarian, High Protein

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (old fashioned oats work best)
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey or plant-based protein powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1/3 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 medium apple, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional, for extra thickness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by dicing your apple into small, uniform cubes. Leave the skin on for extra fiber and color, or peel it if you prefer a softer texture. Grab a clean 12-ounce or 16-ounce glass jar or an airtight container. Having everything ready before you start mixing ensures the protein powder incorporates smoothly without clumping.
  2. Add the rolled oats, protein powder, cinnamon, and chia seeds to your jar. Whisk these dry ingredients together briefly. Next, pour in the milk, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and your choice of sweetener. Stir vigorously with a spoon until the protein powder is fully dissolved and no dry pockets remain. Finally, fold in the diced apples so they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  3. Secure the lid tightly on your jar and place it in the refrigerator. Let the oats soak for at least 4 hours, though overnight (about 8 hours) is ideal for the best texture. The oats and chia seeds will absorb the liquid, creating a thick, pudding-like consistency. In the morning, give it a quick stir, add a splash of extra milk if you like it thinner, and enjoy cold or warmed up.
