Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz high-quality apple cider (fresh pressed is best)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz fresh orange juice
- 1/2 oz agave nectar or simple syrup (optional, depending on cider sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- Fresh apple slices for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Step 1: Rim the Glass: On a small plate, mix together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and sea salt until well combined. Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a rocks glass or margarita glass to moisten it. Dip the rim of the glass into the cinnamon-sugar mixture, rotating it gently to ensure an even coating. Set the glass aside.
- Step 2: Shake the Mocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour in the apple cider, fresh lime juice, orange juice, and agave nectar. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds. Shaking is crucial as it chills the ingredients thoroughly and creates a slight frothiness that mimics a traditional margarita texture.
- Step 3: Strain and Garnish: Fill your prepared rimmed glass with fresh ice. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass. Garnish with a thin slice of apple and a cinnamon stick for a fragrant, festive touch. Serve immediately while ice-cold.
