Air Fryer Sweet Potato Cubes

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Cubes

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Diet: Gluten-Free, Vegan

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by washing and peeling your sweet potatoes. Use a sharp knife to cut them into uniform 1/2-inch cubes; keeping them the same size ensures they all cook at the same rate. Place the cubes into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the potatoes and sprinkle in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together thoroughly until every single cube is evenly coated in oil and spices.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Once hot, place the seasoned sweet potato cubes into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket, as this prevents the air from circulating. Slide the basket in and cook for 15 minutes. At the 8-minute mark, remove the basket and give it a good shake to flip the cubes. This ensures even browning on all sides. Continue cooking until the edges are golden brown and slightly charred.
  3. Once the timer goes off, check the tenderness with a fork. If they are crispy on the outside and soft inside, they are ready. Transfer the hot sweet potato cubes to a serving bowl or plate. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired. Serve them immediately while they are at their peak crispiness. They pair wonderfully with a side of garlic aioli, spicy mayo, or even a simple drizzle of honey.
