Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Lean ground turkey (93% lean is best)
- 1 Lemon (zested and juiced)
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Fresh dill or chives, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil (for the patties)
- Cooking oil spray (avocado or olive oil)
Instructions
- Start by gathering a large mixing bowl. Add the ground turkey, lemon zest, one tablespoon of lemon juice, minced garlic, parsley, dill, onion powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Use your hands or a fork to gently combine the ingredients. Be careful not to overwork the meat, as overmixing leads to a tough burger. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Press a small indentation into the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from bulging while cooking.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with a high-smoke-point oil spray. Place the turkey patties in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. Slide the basket in and cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time (around the 6-minute mark), carefully flip the burgers using a spatula. Use an instant-read thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C).
- Once the burgers are cooked through, remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for 2 to 3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat. Serve the patties on toasted brioche buns, inside large lettuce wraps, or directly on top of a Mediterranean-style salad. Top with your favorite fixings like sliced cucumber, red onion, feta cheese, or a dollop of tzatziki sauce for the ultimate flavor experience.
