Air Fryer Honey Mustard Chicken Breasts

Air Fryer Honey Mustard Chicken Breasts

  • Total Time: 28 minutes
  • Diet: Healthy, Protein-Packed

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Honey Mustard Glaze: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. Set aside about two tablespoons of this sauce in a separate small ramekin to use for brushing on the chicken later.
  2. Step 2: Season and Coat the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to ensure the sauce sticks properly. Place the chicken in a large bowl or a zip-top bag. Pour the main portion of the honey mustard mixture over the chicken. Toss thoroughly to ensure every inch of the meat is coated in the glaze. For the best flavor, let it marinate for 5 to 10 minutes if you have the time.
  3. Step 3: Air Fry to Perfection: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Place the chicken breasts in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook for 15 to 18 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, flip the chicken breasts and brush them with the reserved sauce you set aside earlier. This creates a thick, flavorful glaze.
  4. Step 4: Rest and Serve: Once the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C), remove it from the air fryer. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board or serving plate and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring the meat stays moist. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
