Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count) or pre-made pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (orange color)
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1 small green bell pepper (cut into small rectangles for stems)
- 1/4 cup mini pepperonis (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Garlic butter for brushing the edges
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Dough Shapes: Remove the biscuit dough from the package. On a lightly floured surface, flatten each biscuit into a circle about 4 inches wide. To give them a pumpkin shape, use a small knife to cut a tiny notch at the top where the stem will go. Gently pinch the bottom to make it slightly more oval than a perfect circle. Lightly brush the edges with garlic butter to ensure a golden, savory crust.
- Step 2: Add the Base and Cheese: Spread about one tablespoon of pizza sauce onto each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edges. Generously cover the sauce with the shredded orange cheddar cheese. Using orange cheddar is essential here because it gives the pizza that classic pumpkin hue without needing any food coloring.
- Step 3: Design the Jack-O’-Lantern Faces: Now comes the fun part. Use the sliced black olives to create triangular eyes and a jagged mouth for your pumpkin pizzas. If you are using mini pepperonis, you can cut them into shapes to add more detail. Take a small piece of green bell pepper and place it at the top notch you created in Step 1 to serve as the pumpkin stem.
- Step 4: Air Fry Until Golden: Place a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer basket, ensuring it does not cover the entire bottom so air can still circulate. Place 2-3 pizzas in the basket at a time, being careful not to overcrowd them. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
- Step 5: Plating and Serving: Carefully remove the pizzas from the air fryer using a spatula. Let them cool for 2 minutes so the cheese sets and the “face” doesn’t slide off. Sprinkle a tiny bit of dried oregano over the top for extra flavor and serve while hot.
- Cook Time: 23 minutes
