Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layers biscuits (8 count)
- Cooking spray (coconut or avocado oil)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3–4 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 16–24 large candy eyeballs
- Red decorating gel or icing
Instructions
- Open the can of biscuits and separate them on a clean work surface. Use a small 1-inch circular cookie cutter or the wide end of a piping tip to punch out the center of each biscuit. Do not throw away the centers; you can air fry those as “eyeball holes” later! Lightly spray both sides of the donut rings with your chosen cooking spray to ensure a golden finish.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the donut rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your machine. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are puffed and light golden brown. Remove them from the basket and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and milk until the glaze is smooth and thick. Dip the top of each warm donut into the chocolate glaze. While the glaze is still wet, press two or three candy eyeballs into the top of each donut. Once the glaze sets, use the red decorating gel to draw “bloodshot” veins coming out from the eyeballs for a creepy effect.
- Cook Time: 20 minutes
