Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layers biscuits (8 count)
- Cooking spray (avocado or coconut oil preferred)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Yellow and orange food coloring (gel works best)
- Optional: Real candy corn pieces for garnish
Instructions
- Start by opening your can of refrigerated biscuits and separating them. Use a small round biscuit cutter or a clean bottle cap to cut a hole out of the center of each biscuit. This creates the classic donut shape. Lightly spray your air fryer basket with a little bit of oil to prevent sticking. Do not use aerosol sprays with harsh propellants, as they can damage the basket coating over time.
- Place the donut rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your machine. Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Flip the donuts halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. They should be puffed up and golden brown when finished. Remove them carefully and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Divide the glaze into three separate small bowls. Leave one white, tint the second one bright orange, and the third one bright yellow. Dip the bottom third of the donut into the yellow glaze, the middle third into the orange, and the top third into the white glaze to mimic a candy corn pattern. Place them back on the wire rack for the icing to set, then top with a piece of actual candy corn if desired.
- Cook Time: 20 minutes
