Air Fryer Garlic Herb Lamb Chops

Air Fryer Garlic Herb Lamb Chops

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Diet: Low-carb, High-protein

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 lamb loin or rib chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preparation Start by removing your lamb chops from the refrigerator about 20 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature. This ensures even cooking throughout. Use a paper towel to pat each chop completely dry on all sides; moisture is the enemy of a good sear. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Rub this herb mixture generously over both sides of each lamb chop, pressing the garlic and herbs into the meat so they stick.
  2. Step 2: Cooking Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Arrange the seasoned lamb chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure they are not overlapping so the air can circulate freely. Cook the chops for 7 to 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C). If you prefer medium, cook until they reach 145°F (63°C).
  3. Step 3: Plating Once the lamb chops reach your desired doneness, remove them from the air fryer immediately to prevent overcooking. Place them on a warm plate and tent them loosely with aluminum foil. Let the meat rest for at least 5 minutes; this allows the juices to redistribute, making the chops extra tender. Serve the chops garnished with fresh sprigs of herbs and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors.
