Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons high-quality balsamic glaze
- Optional: 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions
- Start by washing the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Pat them thoroughly dry with a kitchen towel; moisture is the enemy of crispiness. Trim the woody ends off each sprout and slice them in half vertically. If any loose leaves fall off during the process, keep them! Those loose leaves turn into delicious, salty “chips” in the air fryer.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure every sprout is evenly coated in the oil and spices. The oil helps the heat penetrate the leaves and creates that signature golden-brown color.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place the seasoned sprouts into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Slide the basket in and cook for 12 to 15 minutes. Every 5 minutes, remove the basket and give it a good shake to ensure the sprouts cook evenly on all sides.
- Once the sprouts are tender on the inside and charred on the outside, transfer them to a serving bowl. Immediately drizzle the balsamic glaze over the hot sprouts and toss gently to coat. If you like, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese while they are still steaming. Serve immediately for the best texture.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
