Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layers biscuits (8 count)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Non-stick cooking spray (propellant-free preferred)
Instructions
- Open the can of biscuits and separate them on a clean cutting board. Use a small 1-inch circular biscuit cutter or a clean bottle cap to punch a hole in the center of each biscuit. Do not throw away the centers; these will become your donut holes! In a shallow bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. Melt your butter in a separate small bowl and set it aside.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place 4 donuts in the basket, ensuring they do not touch to allow for proper airflow. Air fry for 3 minutes, then flip them over and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until they reach a beautiful golden brown. Repeat the process for the remaining donuts and the donut holes (holes usually take only 3 minutes total).
- As soon as you remove the donuts from the air fryer, work quickly while they are still hot. Use a pastry brush to coat each side of the donut with the melted butter. Immediately toss the buttered donut into the cinnamon-sugar mixture, turning it to ensure an even coating on all sides. Serve them warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
