Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza

Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza

  • Total Time: 18 minutes
  • Diet: Gluten-Free (option), Vegetarian (option)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pieces of Naan or rectangular flatbread
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed
  • 1/2 cup your favorite BBQ sauce (sweet or spicy)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: Sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Start by tossing your cooked chicken in a small bowl with 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce. This ensures every bite of chicken is flavorful and moist. Lay your flatbreads on a clean workspace. If your air fryer basket is small, you may need to cook these one at a time or trim the flatbread to fit.
  2. Spread the remaining BBQ sauce evenly over the surface of each flatbread, leaving a small border for the “crust.” Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Layer the saucy chicken and thinly sliced red onions on top. Finish with the remaining cheese to help lock the toppings in place during the air frying process.
  3. Place the flatbread into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6 to 8 minutes. Check at the 5-minute mark to ensure the edges aren’t browning too quickly. You are looking for a golden-brown crust and fully melted, slightly charred cheese.
  4. Carefully remove the flatbread from the air fryer using a spatula. Let it rest for one minute to allow the cheese to set. Sprinkle fresh cilantro over the top and add any optional drizzles like ranch or extra BBQ sauce. Slice into wedges and serve immediately.
