Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with included icing)
- 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and finely diced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Non-stick cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Peel your Granny Smith apple and dice it into very small pieces, approximately 1/4-inch thick. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Sauté the mixture for 3 to 5 minutes until the apples are slightly softened but still hold their shape. Remove from heat and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls and set the icing aside. Carefully unroll each cinnamon roll into a long strip of dough. Spoon a small amount of the sautéed apple mixture along the length of the dough strip. Gently roll the dough back up, keeping the apples tucked inside. If any apples fall out, just poke them back into the center or top of the roll once it is placed in the air fryer.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with a piece of perforated parchment paper. Place the rolls in the basket, ensuring they do not touch each other to allow for proper airflow. Set the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Check them at the 8-minute mark; they should be golden brown and cooked through the center.
- Carefully remove the hot rolls from the air fryer basket. While the rolls are still warm, drizzle the included icing over the top. The heat from the rolls will melt the icing slightly, allowing it to seep into the crevices and mix with the apple juices. Serve immediately while warm.
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
