Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine water and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until boiling.
  3. Add flour and salt to the boiling mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then fold in lemon juice and zest.
  8. Cut open cream puffs and fill them with lemon cream.
  9. Serve immediately or refrigerate until serving.
