Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (cut into 1/2-inch cubes, cold)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Dry white wine (such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Capers (drained and roughly chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper (freshly ground, or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Start by measuring out all your ingredients. Cube the cold unsalted butter and mince the garlic.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add a couple of tablespoons of butter and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Next, pour in the dry white wine and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it reduce by half for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the cold cubes of butter until emulsified.
  5. Once all the butter is incorporated, stir in the fresh lemon juice, chopped capers, parsley, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  6. Serve the Zesty Lemon Caper Butter Sauce immediately drizzled over your favorite dishes.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
