Description
A delightful and comforting treat perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert, bursting with the sweet flavor of ripe bananas and warmth of vanilla.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 3/4 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/2 cup for less sweetness)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and stir in the melted butter until combined. Add baking soda, salt, and sugar, mixing thoroughly. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas and feel free to experiment with different add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
