  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and stir in the melted butter until combined. Add baking soda, salt, and sugar, mixing thoroughly. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
