Description

A hearty, comforting dish packed with protein, featuring ground turkey and creamy white beans in a flavorful chili.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, cheese, cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they soften and become fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add ground turkey to the pot and cook until it’s browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
  4. Stir in chili powder and cumin, cooking for another minute to release their aromatic qualities.
  5. Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and rinsed white beans to the pot, stirring everything together to combine.
  6. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  7. Taste your chili and season it with salt and pepper according to your preference.
  8. Serve the chili hot, topped with your choice of optional toppings like sour cream, cheese, or fresh cilantro for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

For deeper flavors, consider letting your chili simmer longer. Customize the heat by adjusting chili powder or adding cayenne pepper. Use a heavy-bottomed pot for even heat distribution.
