Description

A delightful and health-conscious take on traditional tacos, these turkey taco lettuce wraps are quick to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights or parties.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 head of Romaine lettuce or Butter lettuce
  • Salsa (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until the turkey is browned and fully cooked through.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning along with a splash of water. Let simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Assemble by taking a lettuce leaf and filling it with the turkey mixture. Top with cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese, avocado, and salsa if desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best texture. Leftover turkey filling can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
