- 1 package of frozen tater tots
- 1 pound ground beef or sausage
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat and stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the tater tots for the bottom layer. Pour the meat mixture over the tater tots.
- Top with half of the mozzarella cheese, followed by pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Finish with the remaining tater tots and cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a twist, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. Add your favorite pizza toppings for a custom dish.
