Description
A delightful dish that balances sweet and spicy flavors with lean ground turkey and fresh broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey (93/7 lean preferred)
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets (bite-sized pieces)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
- 2 cups cooked brown rice or quinoa (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook rice or quinoa according to package directions and keep warm. Meanwhile, prep broccoli into uniform bite-sized pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until the oil shimmers slightly. Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until no pink remains and the turkey develops light golden edges.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet with the turkey. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli turns bright green and becomes tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, and sriracha until completely smooth. Pour the sauce over the turkey and broccoli mixture, stirring immediately to coat everything evenly. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve immediately over prepared rice or quinoa. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
For a juicier dish, opt for ground turkey thigh. Be cautious not to overcook the broccoli, and feel free to customize vegetables in the dish.
