Description

Tender and flavorful meatballs enveloped in a rich creamy sauce, perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits, then bring to a simmer. Add heavy cream and return meatballs to skillet, letting them simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce for a traditional experience.
