Description

A super moist and flavorful chocolate chip banana bread that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 & 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 & 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 34 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and pure vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined and smooth.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the wet mixture and stir gently until fully incorporated.
  5. Carefully fold in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for optimal flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to avoid a dense loaf. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
