Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the sourdough discard, warm water, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a bun.
  6. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them and let rise for 30 minutes.
  7. While the buns are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices. Use bread flour for a chewier texture.
