- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt to form a thick dough.
- Mix together the 3 tablespoons of sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Roll the dough into balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and then coat each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place the coated dough balls on ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden and set around the edges.
- Cool on wire racks before enjoying.

For best results, ensure butter is at room temperature and measure flour accurately.
