- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp sugar (for topping)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; set aside.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth; beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
- Toss diced apples with lemon juice in a separate bowl.
- Pour half the batter into the baking dish, layer with apple mixture, then dollop remaining batter on top.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon for the topping, sprinkle over batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the baking dish before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
Notes
