Description

A comforting dish of frozen meatballs simmered in a rich, savory gravy, perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 26 oz frozen meatballs (about 3035 meatballs, Italian-style recommended)
  • 2 cups reduced-sodium beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for slurry)
  • 2 tablespoons cold water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen meatballs into the slow cooker without thawing. Arrange them in a single layer if possible.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, brown gravy mix, onion soup mix, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the meatballs and stir gently. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, checking at 4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch and cold water. Stir into the slow cooker and cook uncovered for an additional 30 minutes until the gravy thickens.

Notes

Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Can be customized with BBQ sauce or additional spices.
