- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into shapes using cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding citrus zest or nutmeg. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
