Description

A comforting and hearty dish with savory meat, sweet vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or lamb over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet; cook until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the meat mixture, smoothing it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle cheese on top if desired, then bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
