Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Combine granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until boiling.
  2. Continue stirring for about 5 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
  3. Pour the caramel mixture into a greased dish and let cool completely at room temperature, then cut into squares or roll into balls.
  4. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream together until smooth, then dip each fudge piece into the chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for under a week or refrigerate for up to two weeks. Cold truffles offer a firmer texture.
