- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Combine granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until boiling.
- Continue stirring for about 5 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
- Pour the caramel mixture into a greased dish and let cool completely at room temperature, then cut into squares or roll into balls.
- Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream together until smooth, then dip each fudge piece into the chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for under a week or refrigerate for up to two weeks. Cold truffles offer a firmer texture.
