Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a golden brown color, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
  2. Once melted, add the butter and stir until fully combined.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuing to stir (be cautious as the mixture will bubble).
  4. Add the sea salt and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Pour the caramel into silicone molds or a lined baking dish and let it set in the refrigerator until firm. Cut into small squares or shapes and dip in melted chocolate if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate if dipped in chocolate for up to two weeks.
